About Hawk’s
Vibe
Hawk plays a
Musser “Pro Vibe” M55 and occasionally, when he needs to,
uses a Line 6 Flextone III amplifier. He has owned his
Vibraphone (named “Stella”) since April 1977. Hawk
generally uses custom made mallets by Susan Bridwell of
Albright Mallets in Idaho. Hawk is self-taught on the vibe
and has been developing his own style for over thirty
years. His inspirations come from global rhythms more than
modern jazz, but he also loves the spirit of the music from
Louisiana, especially New Orleans.
